FACT or FICTION 

YOU DECIDE

In the comments below. I want you, the reader to decide between these two historical markers, to guess which one is fact and which one is fiction. Don't Cheat, I will be posting which one is which in my next post. May the odds be ever in your favor! 

Clearfield County, formed March 26, 1804, was named for the clear fields found by early travelers. 

Clearfield County, formed May 17,1803, was named after its founder William P. Clearfield, the leader of the early travelers.

My first job

I was 16 when I was employed for my first job at my local McDonald's, I was employed for three consecutive years. The first two years of me working I actually enjoyed working there; the fast pace matched my racing thoughts and energetic personality, constantly doing something and racing against the clock to get the customers food out in 60 seconds or less, the work was consistent but still had a different feel everyday, new and old faces come and go and you dealt with different types of people;weather it was positive or negative experiences, but you still learned something after each one. The people i worked with enjoyed my presence and the energy I brought with me and what was supposed to be just work turned to be a home, somewhere I felt good and felt as if I had meaning. my last year of working was rough, we had gotten a new GM ( General Manager ), she who shall not be named was nothing compared to my previous GM's who were hard working and did what they could for their employees. So for my last year of working I had a poor leader and her actions effected my view of the job.  All the employees including myself had to make up for the lack of leadership. Despite that, I will always carry my job at McDonald's heavily in my heart for the job helped me grow as a person.

Intro to my home town

Clearfield County, a small town where everyone knows everyone,  I am sure any viewers reading this can relate, But what I feel makes Clearfield different is that for how small it is,you forget about the world outside and that there's so much more than this little town with its big problems. this little town and its community tend to act as an illusion of "this town is all there is" that this little town is some residents view of the world, it reminds me of 'The Simpsons Movie' where Springfield is enclosed in this dome and cut off from the rest of the world and its strictly just Springfield by its self. the residents of Clearfield, including myself block ourselves from remembering that there is more than this little town, a whole world out there to experience and I find just from observing my surroundings and people of Clearfeld that there is this mindset of "There is nothing else but this little town, no other opportunities , I've seen and experienced all that I could so why try to better myself when there is nothing else" but really there is this beautiful and huge world to explore, and yet we all blocked ourselves off from it. There's a bar on every corner, a church on every street and I guarantee there is a trap house in every neighborhood. With this mindset of "its just this little town", residents lean on alcohol,drugs, or religion for them to escape from this illusion they created.
